lack.of.function

Gargoyle of Notre Dame
lack.of.function started in Summer of 1999 with Pat J responding to a "drummer looking" ad placed by Chris. Pat J and Chris, needing a place to practice, asked Pat's long-time friend Pat Keenan if they could use his studio/garage as a practice room. Pat K, being the nice guy that he is, said "um... ok".

After several attempts to find a bass player in the local musician pool, Pat K (a guitarist) said he would play bass for us. He picked up the bass for the first time and started his long spiral downward into the depth of being part of the rhythm section. (BTW, Dan "the leech man" was still Pat K's roommate at this time. Check out the "Leech Man" lyrics/song on the music page for the full story...)

The band broke up in 12/2000 – and several gigs later – because Chris wanted to play more covers. Chad Quackenbush, Patrick Janidlo, Chris Melita and Patrick Keenan of lack.of.function

Then in 3/2002, Chris came to the realization that he hated learning and playing covers. Pat and Pat were itching to start the band up again because they missed playing... plus they missed the extra dysfunction in their lives. So the band got back together, with the intention of finding a singer.

And then came Chad....

...and that is our story so far.

Patrick Janidlo - Guitar and Vocals
Patrick has been in numerous local bands in the 90’s , but nothing worth mentioning.

Patrick Keenan - Bass and Vocals
Prior to this band, Patrick had been recording his own off-humor music. With classics like "Boink" and "All I want to do is screw you", he found a musical niche that would have made Frank Zappa proud.

Chris Melita - Drums
An avid Rush fan, he is ecstatic that the boys from Canada have a new album (after 6 years) and they are coming to town.
